Spiritus Wines - Petite Cassagne and Ste Eugenie Rose
Ste Eugenie Rose:
Herve Gantier's wines from the south of France are as
audacious as he is. His estate is located in the foothills of
the Pyrenees along the Mediterranean coast. A blend of
75% cinsault, 15% syrah and 10% grenache, this rose has
a fresh raspberry tone with lots of dried herb and mineral.
Petite Cassagne Rose:
There are not enough words to describe how impressed we
are on an annual basis by Diane de Puymorin's wines.
Everything from her inexpensive values to her high-end
gems are spot on and what a surprise, so is her rose. A
blend of cinsault, grenache, syrah and mourvedre, the
wine has a lot of depth for a rose with big strawberry,
cherry, mineral and floral notes.

Frank's eWine of the week - Tariquet Classic 2008
This 2008 Domaine Du Tariquet is made from
the Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes. Superbly
intense for a dry fruity white, its bouquet
reveals floral and citrus aromas with nice
touches of tropical fruit. Despite the tropical
theme it’s crisp and focused, yet quite flavorful
at the same time. Light and well-balanced, this
wine is a thirst-quenching pleasure. The wine is
full of fruit and refreshing on its own or with
food; it is easy to see why Robert Parker called
Yves ‘one of the most talented winemakers’ of
southern France. "In the past, all that mattered
was the wine making process but over the
years, we have gradually learned to make wine
that is an honest expression of the vineyard."’
Yves Grassa, winemaker.
